Ginbot 30, 2017 E.C. | Zul Hijjah 11, 1446 H. بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Addis Ababa | The Ethiopian Muslims Development Agency, which is the development branch of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, in collaboration with Islamic Relief, provided Udhiya support to 2,000 beneficiaries. On the occasion of Eid al-Adha (Arafa) of 1446 H (2017 E.C), the Ethiopian Ulama Council Secretariat, led by Sheikh Muhammad Zain Zehredin, who is responsible for religious affairs, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Supreme Council for the Udhiya support given to other community groups who are unable to perform the Udhiya ritual due to lack of capacity, by providing appropriate assistance. Sheikh Muhammad Zain Zehredin acknowledged the community’s capacity assessment and appreciated the Ethiopian Muslims Development Agency and Islamic Relief for their organized efforts to provide Udhiya support to those in need. Mr. Ahmed Hussein, board member of the Ethiopian Muslims Development Agency, the development branch of the Supreme Council, stated that providing Udhiya support to 2,000 beneficiaries in collaboration with Islamic Relief is one of the social and humanitarian services the agency offers. The Development Agency noted that it is making great efforts to address community problems and praised the outstanding contribution of Islamic Relief in supporting those who cannot perform Udhiya. Mr. Ahmed Abajebir, the main director of Islamic Relief, acknowledged the extensive work done by their organization in providing Udhiya support to over 12,000 beneficiaries in Addis Ababa and Oromia region. The main director also expressed gratitude for the support received from various donor organizations, which helped deliver aid to the targeted communities. In the ceremony held in Addis Ababa, the city administration’s peace and security officer and the leadership of the city’s Islamic Affairs Council delivered messages. ••••••••••••
